Monday Night Football Predictions

November 18th, 2008 by Chris H.

I hate to be so negative, but my prediction for Monday night’s game is not looking good for the Saints. The Saints’ offense, while leading the league in passing, has failed to win games. The running game is amongst the worst in the league due to the coaching staff’s inability to make use of some great talent, which in turn increases the predictability of the passing game. The Saints especially get thrown off when faced with a good pass rush, so we can bet on Green Bay turning up the heat on Brees. To top it off, the Packers lead the league in passes defended and interceptions.

When faced with formidable opponents, the offensive and defensive lines of the Saints crumble, which triggers a folly of errors making them look like one of the worst teams in the league. The Saints’ turnover ratio is at -5, which is another source of frustration. The Saints defense has been a sight for sore eyes since Gary Gibbs took over, and unfortunately, it doesn’t look like Sean Payton is willing to do anything about Gibbs’ endless string of failures.

So if you ever wondered how a team with the #1 ranked offense in the league could go 5-5, there you have it. Drew Brees is on the news saying “we know we’re an above .500 team,” and we know you are Drew. Problem is, there’s a lot of other factors involved that are keeping you below .500, despite your incredible talent.

My prediction: Saints 20, Packers 34

Gotta blitz Rodgers from center and right side of line outside 76,through 73 and 63. Minnesota knew this. Chicago??? Did not.

Clifton’s first move is step left many times prior to snap.

    Leaves Colledge, Wells vulnerable.

The one time they blitzed Urlacher he broke right through the middle.

Doesn’t throw well out of pocket.

When blitzed will try and find Jennings on quick slant. Just cut that off.

Haltime, 24-21, I hope I was wrong, the offense is on fire right now! Defense is same as usual.
